1. When washing your dobok, use cool tap water (around 60–75°F) and just a small amount of mild detergent for a quick wash to keep the fabric soft and comfortable. You can also run it through the machine on a gentle cycle. As soon as it’s done, hang it up to dry—never

2. Do not wash in water hotter than 86°F (30°C). Heat can warp the weave, cause wrinkles, and fade colors.

3. After washing, avoid direct sunlight. Bright sun will yellow a white dobok over time. Instead, air-dry in the shade or a well-ventilated spot.

4. When you’re done training, fold your uniform flat or drape it neatly—don’t ball it up and shove it into your bag, which leads to deep wrinkles.

5. Never wash your dobok with dark or colored clothes or with your belt. Always wash it with other white items, and for premium uniforms, wash it by itself.

6. In hot weather or after heavy sweating, rinse immediately in cool water with a little detergent. In cooler months or with lighter practice, you can skip detergent or wash every other session, just rinsing in water.

7. Turn your uniform inside out before washing. This ensures the inside, which contacts your body most, gets fully cleaned, and it helps preserve any exterior decorations.

8. If your dobok starts to yellow, add about 2 tablespoons of oxygen-based bleach (never harsh chlorine bleach) to the wash—only on white areas—and keep it inside out to protect any colored collars or trim.

9. If you train regularly, it’s best to own two doboks and alternate them. This gives each one time to rest and recover, significantly extending their lifespan.
